Sydney Office: Serving NSW and QLD

At the helm of our Sydney operations is James Cryer, whose deep roots in the printing industry trace back to the 1880s. His great-grandfather, Walter James Cryer (the first), began as an apprentice in Liverpool, UK, and soon after, emigrated to Sydney where he established a small printery in 1903. This business grew into one of Sydney’s most recognized printing companies, and the legacy of the Cryer family continued with significant contributions to the industry over the decades. Walter James Cryer (the third) was even inducted into LATMA’s “Hall of Fame.”

James Cryer (the fourth) has upheld this family tradition, demonstrating an unwavering passion for the print industry. His extensive career has spanned various roles, including:

  • Managing Director of W J Cryer & Co Ltd, licensees for Avery Labels in Australia
  • Managing Director of Pemara Graphics (NSW), a leading label and packaging group
  • Proprietor of Project Packaging, a pioneer in print-management services with a focus on self-adhesive labels, packaging, and POS segments
  • Consultant to recruitment companies, with a special emphasis on the printing industry
  • Founder of JDA Print Recruitment

James holds an MBA from Macquarie University. Outside of recruitment, you might find him running a half-marathon, cross-country skiing, or mountain biking.
